Welcome Samuel Franklin Lawler

We couldn't be more happy to announce the arrival of our little Samuel! He is so amazing and beautiful and healthy, hungry and everything you could hope in a new human being!


Here's the story:
All day i was having contractions here and there, but that was kind of a normal event as i had been having contractions and sensations for a few weeks. But, at around 3pm i took a shower and it felt so good- i knew that he was closer. I let Rob know he should pack the bag and call our friend Kirsten who was going to watch Ronnie. She got here around 4:20 or so and we left at 4:30pm for the hospital. Fortunately it's not far, but I did tell Rob to hurry it up at one point.

We got to the area where they check you in and the nurse said i was dialated 8cm, my water broke and the wheeled me up in the bed. I started pushing in the elevator! They were yelling at me not to, but i pretty much told them i didn't have a choice here- Sam was coming! I got to the first delivery room they had off the elevator and the doctors and nurses were scrambling around. I pushed another 4 times, maybe, and 11minutes from when i arrived in the room he was born! He weighed 8pounds, 11oz and was 19in long. I didn't have any tearing or hemmoraging like last time, which was great and amazing. The birth was full of pressure, but very little actual "pain". The hypnobirthing really works!!!

So, Ronnie is doing great with all the changes. I realize that i haven't posted any christmas photos, so i'll do so now. Ronnie is at his school, so it's just Sam and I in the house- Rob went to the shop and is doing errands like getting diapers!

Nana and Papi came for Christmas and it was so much fun! They mostly hung out with Ronnie while Rob and I got some much needed work done at the shop- we had the busiest month ever in December! Yeah!!

Santa brought Ronnie his orange garbage truck that he asked for, along with lots of legos to go with it. Papi and Nana got him a broom and dustpan, a recycle truck and lots of cool toys. He had a good time.

Claire, Lucas and Ronnie were together for christmas dinner, which brought 11 of us plus 3 two year olds at one table! Rob made a crown roast of Lamb, which was delicious. The kids really had fun playing together.

Here's Ronnie coming down the stairs on Christmas morning! And playing with his legos first thing. Of course Rob loved setting up all the toys and putting together all the legos for him.
