Well, being 1 is so much fun. Ronnie's doctor appointment for his 1 year check-up went well. He's average for his height and head size, but he was a bit under weight at 20#. She said that is common for breastfed babies, so we've got some work to do!
First, I'm weaning him off breast milk. It's hard to do- it's such great snuggly time for him and me and I know it's really good for him. So, what we're doing is making sure he gets 8 oz of milk first, then he gets the boob. So far it's working well. I think he'll want to wean soon, but Rob says he'll breastfeed until he's 10 if i let him!! Hmmm....NO!
Lately he's been putting the sling we carry him around in over his head and around his body. It's so cute! He's also "cruising" a lot- walking while holding on to things. He can also get off the bed and the sofa by himself without landing on his head! Rob taught him how to go down backwards.
Also, yesterday he climbed ALL the stairs up to the top to his room. Oh NO! So, now we've really got to keep an eye on him while he's playing in his play area. He loves to play, though. He'll sit for a long time just looking at his books and rolling his ball and playing with his "mega block" legos. It's amazing to watch and listen to him chatter to himself. I love it.
Health wise, he's great. He's just got a little band-aid on his back and about a two inch scar/cut below his right bottom ribs. We're able to give him proper baths now too, which is good because he's so active and our floors are so dirty!

Hey! You know I am an avid reader. I am glad to hear Ronnie's scar is healing nicely and he's moving right along as a ONE-yr-old! Where does the time go? I know what you mean about weaning- I feel like the bedtime feeding is my favorite time of the day. And it's my only trick for getting her to fall asleep! But yeah, I guess I don't wanna be doing it til she's 10, hehee :)
