We Love Ronnie

Ronnie is such a good boy! Today he had a very hard test- a renal scan. We had to go to Children's Hospital to have it done. We'll get the results from his urologist in a few days, but it looks like his right kidney isn't functioning as well as it should. I'll update everyone as we know more. He didn't like this test! They had to restrain him so he wouldn't wiggle during the test- 40 minutes long! He cried most of the time, but we brought books and his favorite toys and that helped a bit. Pray we don't have to do that one again!!

The weather here has been beautiful! Ronnie and I go to the park almost every day. Saturday we watched a little league baseball game down the street and sat in the park. He's been teething, but sleeping through the night. We've decided that he's not to get a nap after 3pm and that seems to be helping with his sleep. Although, last night he woke up at 3 am and he was on his belly! He was crying, "Mom! I'm on my belly and I don't know how to turn back over!! Help!!" Then, at 7 am when he woke again, he was on his belly and completely turned around.

All else is well. Rob and I are exhausted! It's so much to think and worry about. But, this is the way Ronnie is built. Sitting in the hospital today put it into perspective: Ronnie is a healthy baby with a (possibly) bum kidney. Things could be worse! Hopefully he'll grow out of this, but if this is the most serious health issue he has in his long life, then that's something we can deal with. Even if there is something more serious, we can deal. He's so amazing and resilient and happy.

Notice in the picture of him in the pool he's got his hand on his weenie! That's his new favorite toy!! He's all boy!!!

xoxo
