Calling all Moms

Good morning! Well, I'm up at 6 am today and feel rested- boy how times have changed. Ronnie is actually on his first nap of day, which is nice because Rob and I had breakfast, the laundry is in the dryer and Rob is out raking the many leaves that have been falling.

First, an update on Ronnie... He's HUGE!! We went to the doctor last week (more on that in a bit) and he was 11 pounds, 6.7 ounces. He's been gaining almost a pound a week since he was born! OMG! He's been eating like a champ still and generally sleeping well. He goes in one four hour stint, then three, then two. Although, last night he slept four and four, which was great! I was up for about an hour and a half getting him down at 2am, but oh well.

He's been laughing and smiling like crazy- especially in the morning. It's the cutest thing! The smiles are really genuine, but the laughs are sometimes questionable. But, we're still proud and amazed.

Okay... Calling all mommies! Ronnie is making some strange noises! He's always been vocal- lots of cooing, grunting, moaning, etc. But lately he's been doing this raspy chirping noise that got me concerned. So, I called the nurse/doctor's office to see what they thought. I put the phone to his mouth and, much to my dismay, they were concerned. I thought for sure they would just say, "Oh, that's just normal baby noises. You're just being a nervous mom." They had me bring him down to the doctor immediately for them to check him out. Of course, as soon as we hit the doc's office he stopped the noise and didn't make it again until we were in the car on the way home! But, she checked him out and said it was probably just his tiny windpipe hitting his breath a funny way. We adjust his position when he makes the noise, but I just wanted to see what all the moms out there thought. By the way, I hate going to the doctor with him, so I do have a general distrust of the whole institution called medicine. Email me or put comments on the blog.

OK... More pictures! I've been trying to capture that elusive smile. Jenny hasn't had her baby girl yet, but tomorrow is her due date (and her birthday!) so send her good thoughts!

Ronnie and I went to a mommy and me yoga class last Monday. He slept through the entire hour class, but still got some benefits, I hope! I certainly loved it! It was nice to move my body again and also nice to see other moms and babies. There were two little girls who were 7 weeks and two little boys who were 4 months and they all couldn't have been more different. Of course, Ronnie was the best baby there! But, he could at least hold his head up more than the 7 week olds. Maybe next week he'll be awake!

The photo on the left is from last week and the one below is from October! Look at that chunky monkey!!

I went to my doctor's appointment yesterday and everything is great! I feel good and only have about 10 to 15 pounds to lose, which seems reasonable. Ronnie and I figured out the baby bjorn, so we've been going on walks around the neighborhood. He's getting so big that the bjorn is more comfortable to carry him in when he's awake. We also went to a wine lunch, which was great! We only tried two wines, so it wasn't too much of a booze fest!

Alright, I'll try and get more pictures soon. In case you're wondering, Ronnie has a bit of the "baby acne". It's getting better. We still love him- warts and all! Here's a video of him from when my mom was here. I just discovered the "upload video" button on the blog! More video to come!

Hi, thought you would want to know that Avent bottles (and other hard polycarbonate varieties) are not advised due to chemical leaching:
